Zbigniew Szumski was bom in
1956 in Sopot. He studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Gdańsk in the
Faculty of Painting and Graphics, completing his diploma in 1983 under the
supervision of Professor Jerzy Krechowicz. He has worked as an
artist, in graphic design, and as a theatre
designer. He has won awards in international poster competitions (Wuppertal,
Munich, and Hamburg) and won the first prize for theatre design at the
festival Polska Klasyka in Opole. Since 1992 he has been Director of the Cinema Theatre. He lives in Michalowice.
